I use it daily commuting (round trip 20 km). We are seriously considering stopping public transportation and purchasing electric bicycles. But none of these “perfect” reviews feel suspicious!
Veteran Riders: What is it that nobody tells the beginner?
What is the most troublesome repetitive problem to be patient?
Are there any “fatal disadvantages” found after purchasing?
I think riding a bicycle is great in itself.
Select a hub motor for commuting. Less chain line wear and more relaxing.
I think that it is better not to spend too much money (except in the case that by all means). Many of the factors that make bicycles expensive do not concern electric assisted bicycles.
There is a motor assist during the run, so the weight is not concerned. the problem is the weight of storage.
The smoothness of the change speed and the number of steps are not important because the change operation is greatly reduced. rather, it would be counterproductive if we exceed seven, eight, nine.
It is recommended to choose disc brakes for long distances and upgrade to hydraulic if cable type (inexpensive and easy). My first bike was a rim brake and needed frequent adjustment.
The other is security. If you can only bring a folding bicycle to work, you will be the deciding factor to purchase a folding bicycle for commuting. Also, if you park outdoors, buy a waterproof cover.
Especially for rim brakes. There is a lot of need to tingle and wear the aluminum rim rapidly. It is also great advice to replace the cable rim brake with a cable/hydraulic type. The cost is very little (about 25 pounds when I exchange) and works much better. Saneagle wrote several posts about the method and where to get the cable/hydraulic type.
I spent several years commuting 14 miles one way. I used a motorcycle and a car, but I switched to an electric bike. I liked it very much. The only hassle was that the wind would always turn from morning to afternoon. There is a long section with hedges on both sides, and the wind passes through it, so the direction of the crosswind changes from minus 5 degrees to plus 5 degrees, and it turns completely backward.
Meanwhile, there was no problem at all. If it was such a mileage, it was not strange to encounter a bad driver once in a while, but it did not lead to a serious situation. There was only once a mechanical trouble, and the crank was loosened, but because it was equipped with a hub motor, I could still go home.
The equipment required for commuting is anti-punk tires (marathon plus), hydraulic disc brakes, and light with sufficient brightness. The highly visible helmet camera seems to calm the driver of the car. Finally, don’t waste money on expensive waterproof equipment. I used a fluorescent padded work jacket (about 15 pounds) in winter to keep it warm and dry. I wore a cape (about 10 pounds) during heavy rain.
What crushed my expectations was that the embedded and sophisticated design was “bad” and the bolt-on DIY wind was “good.”
This is because most (if not all) of the embedded systems are closed and difficult to fix or modify. The “advanced” battery communication function for “safety” actually means early self-destruction and is designed to prevent the lifespan of the motorcycle from being extended by basic battery replacement if necessary.
If you are DIY-oriented and have no problem changing tires, DIY modifications with excellent brakes on a comfortable motorcycle as described above are the best way to FVM (best value).
Adding suspension also enhances comfort (not equipped with my bike). Because the need to rise from the saddle is greatly reduced by the motor mounting, the unevenness of the road surface is transmitted to the spine as it is… Seat post suspension is a real technology!!
For your reference, I selected the genuine Yosepower 250W rear wheel kit. I am still very happy after two years. My ignorance at the time of purchase caused the kit to contain an incorrect pedal sensor, but it was solved by a simple email exchange with the support team. In addition, Saneagle of this bulletin board noticed the mistake that I installed the motor upside down after my first “bike post”
Other than that, it is trouble free.
Others upgrade their basic Yose controllers to KT branded versions. Additional costs range from about £80 to £100 for improved controllability and output options. The standard general-purpose plug/socket connection makes it easy to unplug old controllers and replace them with new ones.
Never overtake the side of the track (whether connected or otherwise) at the intersection. Literally means death.
If you feel or see a traffic jam behind you, hang on your shoulders and wait for the traffic jam to resolve.
The driver is an impatient bastard, and even if it is stopped in 1 or 2 minutes, * try to overtake even if you bet everything.
Be sure to wear a high viz vest at night.
Even if you are wearing fancy clothes, when the sun sets on the horizon, all colors will appear black.
Get a bike repair book. Actually, it’s pretty easy and you can save a lot of money. YouTube is perfect for instructions.
When purchasing a ready-made electric bicycle, make sure that the durable label with the following information is attached to your bicycle:
Manufacturer Name
Maximum Output
Battery Maximum Voltage 48V
Maximum assist speed 15.5 miles per hour (25 km/h)
If this information is not displayed on the bike, it is known that the police will seize the legitimate bike.
Also, never use twist-and-go throttle.
hi it is good idea as it leads to good environment and climate.
