aventon ebike battery replacement help

Hey everyone, i’ve got an Aventon Level ebike and the battery just stopped charging last week.
I’ve had it for about a year, never had issues before. It just randomly wouldn’t take charge, no lights on the charger or battery.
I tried different outlets and checked the fuse on the charger — all seem fine.
I emailed Aventon support but haven’t heard back yet, kinda stuck in the meantime.
Does anyone know if there’s a common fix for this or if it usually means the battery’s dead?
I’ve seen some people mention resetting it but i can’t figure out how.
I use the bike daily so i’m hoping it’s not a full replacement situation.
Any ideas on what else to try? Has anyone else dealt with this?

Yeah, mine did something similar last winter. Ended up being a loose connection inside the charging port. I opened the cover carefully and saw one pin bent.

I had to replace my Aventon battery completely after about 14 months. It just wouldn’t hold charge. Support was slow but they eventually sent a replacement under warranty.

Try plugging the charger into the wall after connecting it to the battery. I know it sounds dumb, but it sometimes resets the charge circuit.

Good idea, i’ll leave it plugged overnight and see what happens.

Could be the BMS (battery management system) locked up. Try leaving it plugged in overnight, even if the lights don’t come on. Sometimes it wakes up.

Check the little fuse on the battery itself, not just the charger. It’s hidden under a tiny rubber flap on some models.

I had same thing with my Pace 500. Turns out moisture got in from rain rides and shorted the port. Let it dry few days and it started charging again.

I think Aventon changed chargers recently. You might’ve gotten one of the bad batch. They replaced mine for free when i reported it.

Yeah that’s smart, i’ll see if my local shop has one to test.

Did you try another charger from a friend or local shop? That’ll tell you fast if it’s the charger or battery.

Some folks online said to hold the power button for 30 seconds to reset the battery. Not sure if it works but worth trying.

I wouldn’t mess with opening the pack unless you’re super careful — it can be dangerous. Maybe wait on Aventon reply before going deeper.

I had good luck contacting them on Instagram. Their email support was slow but they replied same day on social.

Didn’t think of that! I’ll try messaging them on IG too, thanks.

Honestly if you ride daily, might be good to invest in a second battery anyway. Mine started failing slowly before dying completely.
