Pedego is a major brand so Im assuming I cover it a lot but if this review helps someone please let me know. I own a Classic Cruiser. Im planning to write this in three parts. Pedego Classic Cruiser Over 13 months; I dont know about the 1st month Its big and heavy. Just over 50 pounds. Ive done very little maintenance on it but its held up well with the exceptions listed below. The spokes are the thickest Ive ever seen and theyve held up well overall. Ive ridden it on a variety of dirt roads and hit bumps at high speeds. Since its an overbuilt wheel its worth riding it several times even with broken spokes. Ive replaced the rear spokes several times. According to the bike shop Pedego recommends re-seating the rear wheel every two months because the torque from the engine causes it to loosen. Id never heard of it but I figured Oh really Spoke replacements were free but the bike shop doesnt always have them in stock so I had to wait for them to arrive. I had to replace the spokes about six times before they said they needed remounting. Im not sure if big bike shops carry this type of spoke. Pedego dealers probably have it. My dealer didnt have the same type of tire so Ive only replaced the rear tire once. I have a slim tube but it tends to lose air easily at high pressures so I often ride with the rear wheel softer. The ride is very comfortable. I like the upright position. I like the large grips that dont require reaching the large seat and the large pedals that came out a while ago to maintain an upright position. I can soften the wide tires for a smoother ride or firm them up for strong engine support. I still enjoy riding a cruiser but I think its the type of frame I wouldnt ride without a motor. Replacing the rear tire or even replacing the spokes requires removing the rear wheel including the motor. I havent done it myself yet but its a significant task but it doesnt seem too difficult. You have to disconnect the rear brake cables which will wear out over time. I replaced the brake cables with Teflon ones so they should last longer. The battery life is good. I think it loses a little power on a charge but it still seems to last over 20 miles. Id like to test it soon. Ive been riding this bike pretty frequently for the past 13 months. The Good As mentioned above its a comfortable and enjoyable ride. The 500W motor handles intersections well. With a little help it handles hills well. I like the standard bell. Its quite sturdy has a battery and so far no surprises. The Bad Ive seen quite a few e-bikes with battery racks that dont support panniers. I have a nice Jand bag but it wont work on the Classic Cruiser. I had to use the saddlebags Pedego sent me for free. I cut up a 12-pack box to fit it in the bag and keep it from stretching and scraping the tires. Im not looking any further. The rear brake is a hub brake built into the motor. The front disc brake will stop it. The hub brake wont. This is only a problem when riding with one hand but it doesnt seem unsafe. However it doesnt tend to throw the handlebars and the combination of front and rear brakes stops it. The fat tires are great but their high center of gravity makes them difficult to corner on sandy surfaces. When I replaced the rear wheel with a mountain bike tire suited for cornering the grip improved significantly. My bike is a bit slow. The governor seems to operate at around 18 mph. Other bikes Ive ridden operate at around 20 mph.

Id love to hear owner reviews but many reviews are limited to first rides and first week. Id like to know more about the long-term quality and performance of such investments. In my opinion most components other than consumables like brakes and tires excluding batteries should last at least three to four years to justify their price. Therefore Im leaning toward purchasing a high-quality motorcycle and electrifying it rather than pre-building it.
Yes reviews are good especially for such an expensive product.
